random cell phone pictures

i do this a lot on my family blog (you can see my lastest installment HERE)...seeing how my cell phone is always with me...and my big honkin camera is not. and of course i'm always taking random pictures of things to make...things i like....things I want to match to another project...
so I thought I would share the contents of my camera phone:

i see some freezer paper stenciling in my future.

(okay funny story: i love these shirts (found at  Walgreens of all places. bought a BARF VADAR for my little nephew and my other nephew got a "my mom is HOT" shirt.
well the mom is hot shirt one was wearing his at the pool.
and we lost him.
(he's a free spirit...always wondering off but the pool is just not the greatest time to do that)
anyways. we lose him..we're freaking.
and over the intercom we hear the lifeguard announce
A little boy is missing. wearing a blue shirt that says, "my mom is hot"

loved this owl (but for $7 thought I could just knock one off)

this cute tree was at a craft show I did...
she sold the cutest stuff....(and she actually has an etsy shop HERE)

love this.

some i spy quilt squares
and some more

my mother in law forwared this to me...it was at her mom's school. each kid had their own little seat cover to hold extra books (would be great for a teacher gift!)

almost bought this at the thrift shop (bought the tv stand in front of it instead!)

worst picture....but i loved the little thing under the sewing machine with pockets to hold sciccors and all that crap you need at your finger tips (i can only imagine all the strings that would be in there)

i thought these would be so easy. some dollar store candles...some vinyl.

i know...wrong season..but this padded pumpkins were so cute!

I was walking down the cake aisle and saw these silver things....

and I just thought they would make something super cute... i mean. they are shiny. and scalloped.

and they provoked a thought....a challenge..... a glue gun challenge.

A girl and a glue gun

for anyone who wants to play along.

HERE's the RULES

go down the cooking/baking aisle.

find something awesome.

makes something awesome with it
(use your glue gun)
and send me a link or picture of it.

fun right?
like a great theme on SYTYC.

you know we all love when the people make something totally awesome and great from something never expected!
so let's see the ideas.

glue gun challenge ends July 20.

  1. I thought the challenge was going to be to post your funniest/most odd cell phone pictures and I was excited. When I was in Michigan 2 weeks ago I snapped a drive-by photo of our local bar (imagine a tiny town with a bank, a post office, a convenience store and a bar -- no stop light even) with a 4-wheeler parked out front. I've been looking for the perfect place to post. it. ;)

  3. LOL @ the pool intercom! I just freezer paper stencilled some onesies for my friends new baby boy that said "I'm with the MILF" and "BOOB MAN, I drink from the tap" LOL And I'm thinking of making myself a shirt to wear to the gym that says "I don't care how hot you are, WIPE DOWN YOUR MACHINE" lol. Ohhhh I LOVE freezer paper stenciling ;)

  4. Challenge...accepted.

And for some reason, just thinking of the word "challenge" has me thinking of the fight scene in Robin Hood: Men in Tights where the sheriff says:

    "Just you..and me...and my GUARDS!"

  7. OK I have got to rise to the occasion and try my first challenge.Do we have to make a tutorial of it on our blog? Or do we just make it, take a photo of it, and then...you can tell I'm not very familiar with the mechanics of sharing on a blog. I did try one time but it ended up being the wrong thing to do and I haven't tried again. But I have an awesome idea for those silver cake dividers and want to try it the right way this time. Thanks!

  10. I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who takes pics at the crafts store while pretending to check my email on my phone. LOL But I have yet to make anything from it.
