threw in a roll of duct tape and electric tape and a few pairs of scissors...
dump them onto the floor
and have at it.
it kept them entertained for about a good hour (some longer!)
he taped cars to the bottom of his to make it roll
this reminds me of a mix between gingy (from shrek) and wall-E
now....you could do this with hot glue..but that requires more adult supervision than just ripping off the tape.

The street that I grew up on had an Environmental Study Center at the end of it, and I used to LOVE going down there. One of my favorite things to see was this GIANT (I'm talking over 12 feet at least) trash man! It was part of their display about how much trash there really is. If I can find a picture of it, I will totally post it and send it to you because these cute little guys remind me so much of him!! :)

ReplyDeletewow girl! you take hoarding to another level! i wonder... is it still hoarding if you ACTUALLY use the stuff you save? i think a true hoarder just becomes obsessed with the keeping of the junk... you my friend are an artist!

ReplyDeleteIt is so good to see children using their imaginations...and for parents who encourage it. Gives me hope for our future leaders (and we do need leaders in all countries who can see outside the box).

This brings back such memories!! When I was a kid my dad used to make me Barbie furniture using "trash". I was the envy of all my friends because he would also take scraps of fabric from mom's scrap bag and "upholster" the furniture as well. I had a cradle, papasan chair, sofa, end tables, coffee table, round dining room table w/ chairs, and footstools. It was cool!! Every time we moved he would start all over again... and we will a military family who moved every 18 to 36 months. Our younger two boys (at 14 and 11) still hoard stuff to be reused. :)

Love the projects! I use to ask for donations like these when I was teaching Pre-K and did the same thing with my kiddos. They can come up with some really cool creations!
