i'm a hoarder saver
and so when i get done with a vinyl project..i keep the scraps...
and they start to pile up.
so i love when i think of projects that will use up some of my gigantic pile.
and when i say gigantic....i mean like huge. like really huge.
i had some blocks...
..
and i just freehanded cutting out some flowers to make it all purttty.
(and then i decorated the one at church with some zebra strips..
next up is my husband's flashlight...
i just added some stripes..(he wanted nothing cute) but now when we go camping with our family we know right up who's flashlight is who....
i mean look how easy...no silhouette or cricut needed...
small scrap...
punch..add some holes..
add it to a button jar!!!!
here's the family home evening blocks....this is a great scrap buster...i did each word a different color to use up my pile
i added strips of black vinyl and colored polka dots to a piece a wood for my growth chart...
you can also add a little personalization to just about anything....
and i made a new altoid tin (but it wasn't altoid...it was a camel something (?) that my husband spotted at work and asked to have the tin when the guy was done (he is so becoming a crafter and he doesn't even know it.) to hold my husbands headphones
and you can add a little personalization to your phones!
anything really!
another great way to use your scraps is by using the NEGATIVE space as a stencil!!!!
i also recently made this cute frame:
and instead of just throwing away the negative space..i used it to as a stencil!!!!
and added some spray paint (it's like etching spray paint...)
i also made this butterfly wall for my daughter's room...
you could keep the negative space and added some fun scrap paper behind for a cute little art work
frame it and it would be adorable!
you can used these butterflies as a stencil...
and do you want to see my favorite vinyl scrapbuster project ever...?
how awesome is this polka dotted kitchenaid!!!! you can go here to see how she covered it in vinyl dots!
so moral of this story? SAVE THOSE SCRAPS!!!!!
Girl I am a "saver" too! And this post only made me want a cricut even more!
ReplyDeleteI save all my scraps too...but they are usually a mess! I need to make some of those cute projects to use up some scraps!
ReplyDeleteYou went vinyl crazy!! lol Such clever ideas too. :) Your husbands bedazzled comment made me literally LOL. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe one and only reason I have refused to buy vinyl is because I know how much I would hoard!
ReplyDeleteOh, and because everything in my house would probably be covered in it.
A house coverd in vinyl, that sounds like something from that 50 Shades book I refuse to read.
Eeek!
Great group of projects, TFS!
ReplyDeleteI think you like vinyl..super fun projects and I like u save all my scraps
ReplyDeleteI've never used vinyl, but it looks like fun! Does it have a sticker backing or do you have to glue it? Can I buy it at Joanns?
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Love your "scrappy" ideas in this blog especially the labels for storage - for example the earphones - very cute. :-)
ReplyDeleteto jillian..vinyl is awesome. it's like a thin sticker and it's removable and my life would not be complete without it.
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorite is the stapler! So fun, thanks for sharing!
