and some awesome printable vinyl from expressions vinyl.
and a printer
and some scissors.
I took some black and white pictures....and printed them out...
I left it sideways on purpose....to use up as much space as possible!!!!
i cut each one out....making sure all 4 were the same size...
then I just lightly penciled in some letters (this is where you could get all time consuming and print out a font you like..cut it out and trace it...)
(when I was picking my pictures...i picked a letter for each one and made sure it didn't cut off the persons eyeballs or anything!)
all done.....
I had this old board with hooks right in my entry way that holds my keys...
I distressed the crap out of it...
and peeled and stuck (just like vinyl!) it's a bit thicker so you don't really need to use transfer tape unless you have some smallish detail!
now. cause i just can't resist myself...i used my cricut. (see this was forever ago i made this! i've since upgraded to a cameo (i'm a trader.))
cut it out...added some transfer paper and added it..
are you singing the song? cause i am. love it.
here's husbands opinion:
"i hate that picture of myself"
but every other picture i have is like this
Love it! Your printed vinyl project turned out great! I tried experimenting with printing on regular vinyl and it was a major FAIL! so I'm going to have to get some this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I really like how yours turned out.

ReplyDeletelove it! Could do this with modge podge too if you don't have printable vinyl. Very cute. I love the added red words too
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Thank you for sharing. I love the look of it, and definitely think the "feels like to me" totally set it off. :)
ReplyDeletelove this!
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome....love your blog btw!!!!! I think a glue gun will solve almost any problem!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share that a cheap alternative to not having a fancy cutter (or in my case-when your too lazy to move all the stuff piled on it) is to print letters on regular printer paper. then cut them out, tape to your picture or vinyl, and cut around them ...voila.
I've used this technique on cheap but cute 'contact' paper to add lettering to plastic storage boxes, pumpkins, decorative plates, and much more. (Please excuse any typos ..posting from my phone.)
