You don't have to buy crimp beads or clasps or any other jewelry making supplies. You just need some beads:
and some ribbon and a needle and thread
Thread your needle.
You are going to take a folded over piece of ribbon and run your needle through it
(seriously..look at the pictures cause i think my explaining is HORRIBLE!)
then you are going to place the bead on the needle
then bring up your next ribbon folded over and run your needle through that..right in the middle.
then bead
then ribbon
then bead
then ribbon
until you are out of beads.
The only hard thing about it is making sure to use the same amount of ribbon between each bead. too much and it hangs down below too much or up past the bead too much.
front
back.
Now, --you can attach the end of the ribbons to a chain...
but My ribbon was the perfect size....so I just used it.
I tied a bow and then measured how long I wante it to be
I thought about using velcro but found these in the bottom of my sewing box
pretty sure they are from 1970s.
Attached them to both sides
And as always I take a match and slightly melt the ends to prevent fraying
adorable, now I just need to find some black ribbon and jumbo pearls to make mine!
ReplyDeletethat's beautiful!
