This baby stroller is probably the most used toy in our house. Which is probably the reason it is falling apart!!! ( couldn't be the non-doll bums that have taken a ride in the stroller!!! (silly me forgot to take a before picture)
see....totally ripped. those dolls just fell right through. I detached the bottom part and then just cut my material the same size except for the bum part.....the top of that has an extra inch or two to slide onto the stoller
I sewed that bum piece over 1/2 inch then over again 1 1/2 inch but only sewed the middle...the sides is where it slides on.
and the blue binding just like I did on my aprons--but on a smaller scale.
took a strip of blue and ironed in both sides
then fold that in half and iron
ohh...dirty ironing board.
and just pin it on and sew it up.
I also took off the seat belt and the straps up top of the ripped one and sewed those onto my new one.
then you just attach the bottom piece to the top piece....right sides together. Starting from the middle of both pieces and work your way out. (the top won't go all the way to the ends of the bottom)
sew it all up.....and it should look like this:
I tried to get a picture of my daughter with the doll and stroller---this was the best I could do!
Notice the vacuum....I swear its in every post!
I'm bummed that I don't have any daughters yet to make them cute things for their dollies! Someday...I wanted to ask you if you could do a tutorial or could direct me to a blog on how to make beaded lanyards...I want to make them for my gals at school and wanted an easy way! I've looked at a lot of websites, and just can't figure them all the way out!!! Let me know!!! I LOVE your craft blog!!

Such a great idea! It turned out just darling. Love the polka dots!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! We have two of those strollers afflicted in just the same way and for the same reason. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to just make a cover for it.
