(Plume is a fancy word for feather)
Okay...we are currently on a FANCY NANCY CRAZE (I mean who isn't?)I figured we could use a little fancy in our life....enter our plumey pens (I might have gotten carried away.)
I just used regular bic pins!!!
I started with a rainbow pen
just hot glued (Hot glue is a fancy word for the best adhesive ever invented) them in order of the rainbow
And wrapped ribbon around the pen
Then my son wanted one....and his favoritte color is GREEN
I just hot glued the feathers right to the side of the pen and wrapped ribbon over it.
Then I knew I needed a pink one.
But no pink feathers....I had some tulle (what fancy nancy wouldn't have some tulle laying around?)
Cut them all into squares
took the corners and put them together
hot glued the bottom
waited for the glue to cool until it was tacky...then I twisted it so it was nice and small.
I glued all these seperate pieces and then glued them all together
and I covered the pen in velvet ribbon (velvet is fancy word for super soft)
I hot glued it right to the center of the tulle
pretty fancy
Why stop at one pink one? I used little cork screw curled ribbon
225 degrees for 25 min cool completely
unravel and cut up
and then guess what? you HOT GLUE it all together!
j'adore!
and then I wanted a long one like a feather.
I used fabric on the pen
and then I used the same fabric on a stick
and I layed out the feathers from biggest to smallest and hot glued it to the back of the stick
And I had a styrofoam ball that I stuck on the end of the pen....
and hot glued feathers all around.
I hot glued white feathers down first and overlapped with black so they were totally fluffy...but when I took pictures it looks like my poor little pen has a bald spot.
Pretty fancy
My Emma Claire loves Fancy Nancy too. Our fave is Posh Puppy!
ReplyDeleteooooo I like the one with the ball. I am always adding ribbons to my pens so no one take them at work. I really helps! You did a good job on yours, they turned out cute!

I L-O-V-E this idea, love it! They all came out great and your picture tutorial was clear and easy to follow a child could do it - which is a great project I'm thinking using strips of paper. The window sill still of them all in glass was a perfect ending to a perfect tutorial blog. Thanks, this was just what I needed to know.
