Valentines Bag

My daughter needed a bag to tote her valentines to school. (Besides the normal "Walmart bag" we all use)
I bought the red felt off the bolt (about $3.00 a yard) but you could just buy those 8 1/2 by 11 pieces.  You will need 3 reds, one white, one pink, hot glue gun, ribbon of choice, buttons if you so choose, ric rac, puff paint if you want words....possiblities are endless.
3 pieces of red felt...if you want a smaller one cut to desired size. Remember to leave the seam allowance for the hot glue (or thread. You really could sew this very easily if you are savvy with the needle and thread)
One piece for the front, one for the back and cut the last one in 3 strips for the sides and bottom (I cut them the size of my ribbon because I glued it all the way around the bag.

I know this picture is dark but the flash couldn't quite capture the seam. I just hot glued the bottom on first and then up the sides. Wait to make sure the glue is dry then turn right side out.

I took my ribbon and glued it all the way around leaving about a foot at the top for the handle.

Then fill with all your valentines and send it to school with your daughter--where it will be dragged on the ground or dropped in the snow, never to be quite as cute again. (That's why I didn't spend time sewing it.)
