one more quick silhouette love...cause really..this machine never ceases to amaze.
one really awesome thing that the cameo does is 3-d images. It will cut out shapes that assemble to make a...you guessed it..3-d thing. like flowers...or boxes or little books. I opened up a file in my cameo to save them all too so they are all in one place!
when you you click on them they go on the screen and you can adjust to whatever size you need...just don't ungroup them and mess with the sizes...or your wings aren' t going to fit in your plane!the pinwheels are pretty basic...but how easy to mass produce these now!
another thing to remember with these fun 3-d things is....
double sided paper!
it makes it cute from all angles!
they even have sewing patterns....like this cute fox!
you just size to how big you want it and cut it out on paper...then just lay it on your fabric and use it as a pattern.
that is some pretty awesome stuff.
AND if that wasn't cool enough...
it will make a stencil for you to embellish stuff with rhinestones...
you cut it out and lay it on a sticky sheet and rub the rhinestones on it til they are all in place
and then adhere....
i haven't used it yet....but you can go HERE to sugar bee to get a basic tutorial!
and kaysi does a great tut on the expressions vinyl blog (go HERE)
AND you can buy the rhinestone starter kit HERE!
and if reading this post really makes you WANT a silhouette cameo..and you don't have one
you can go HERE and buy one! ships for free!!!!
I haven't tried the 3D stuff yet, but I really need to!
ReplyDeletetwo random silhouette questions (I got mine on their black friday special and still have LOTS to learn about it!). 1) Is there any reason why the silhouette couldn't just cut the fabric for me, instead of having it cut paper for the pattern? and 2) Since they are more widely available... can a Cricut mat be used interchangable with the Silhouette mat? Anyone know?
