so i felt like i hit pay dirt when i got this awesome package...
it was filled to the brim with all things you need to create something freakin awesome!
the new thing in there is the x-acto Z
it's like the James Bond of x-acto knives....(and the self healing cutting board is a must!)
and I recently finished this coffee table redo
and wanted to make some fun tiles to use for the tic tac toe....
and i originally thought...I will cut out some x's and o'x out of foam core....
but where the fun in that?
so instead....we made
I took my ruler...some foam core board...my x-acto z knife (and cutting board) and paint pens...
drew out where to cut...
and sliced and diced...when i had 12----
i whipped out my painter pens (can i say i might have the slightest obsession with them. they are amazing...give the results of paint without the mess and drying time and i love them.)
i sketched out the respective superheros and filled it in with color...
the new metallics i got are awesome..
don't mind thor..he's having a bad day....
so they can play red against blue...
and the backs (boy requested more superheros so i had to fill in backs)
front of blues
now that i'm done i wish i would have mixed up the symbols from the people so they could play a matching game as well as tic tac toe!
we have also been working on capital and lower case letters for my daughter...so i might make her some abc tiles to help her practice!
{you could also turn this into a kid craft and let them design their own tiles!!!}
i also have been playing around with my x-acto z and have been making some tags...for presents...
I used the cutter to get my card shape...
and just sketch out and cut with my xacto z
and saved those leaves for some thank you cards...
and guess what---xacto wants to give two readers a $25 gift certificate to go buy your own x-acto z knife!
here are some of my other elmer/x-acto projects i have made.....
