this was an oldie...(over at the expressions vinyl blog)
but it's one of my favorite redos.
i just like to emphasis the fact that you really don't need a cameo or other cutters to love vinyl like i do! (they do make it WAY more fun!)
i have these shoes.
and i've had them for years. at least six.
and they are getting worn....
fronts too...i'm sure it has something to do with my daughter wearing them around.
and so when i saw this houndstooth vinyl (in PERMANENT) i knew i could recover them and give them a second life!!!
i just worked piece by piece..... (i always cut the vinyl larger than the spot i was filling)
and used my fingernail to make the indentions of where i needed to cut....just pressed it in..
and then just used an exacto to make an exact cut...
for the heel...i just used pieces...the houndstooth is easy to match up..and small enough to not notice that it isn't matched up perfect....
if you try to use big pieces you are going to have loads of bumps and wrinkles...little by little and it all lies pretty smooth and flat!!!!half way there!
it actually went pretty fast! i think i watched one people's court and they were done...
the before:
and the after...
so grab a pair of shoes and give them a second life! they have so much fun vinyl over there that you could really make some unique works of art!!!!
These look so stinkin' cute!!!! What a great idea :)

I love them. A great way to keep a favorite pair of shoes by just giving them some TLC.
