tt.scraps said... Wow! Thanks for sharing them! :)

I am a member of this church. and i'm in the primary (ages 3-12) and this year's themed is CHOOSE the RIGHT. (which is a great theme if you are a member or not...i mean you don't tell your kids to choose wrong before they leave their house am i right or am i right?)
and we were thinking about giving each kid a CTR ring
but most kids have them (my daughter has two) so we decided to do ctr blocks....
i gave my facebook family a sneak peak of colorful goodness:
which just started as a bunch of blocks...(my sister in law was building a house and they had huge piles of leftover scraps! and they were just going to throw them away..needless to say, i saved them)
got on my silhouette studio and made a sign that fit the 2x4 (that isn't really a 2x4 but i won't get into that here)
and cut them out
and used transfer tape
gave it a nice rub and peeled it off. (so cheap alert: i reuse transfer tape. (especially with big letters) i got to reuse it about 4 times before it didn't work so great.(i distressed the sides before i stuck the vinyl on)
then repeat...
and repeat....
we made all different colors so everyone can pick whatever will match their rooms.
so fun. i have to say, i love them all together...i mean i don't need 20 blocks...but i love the effect of all the colors together!
on a related/random sidenote: i found this cute etsy shop
just thought i would share...
Great minds think alike! I made basically the same thing for our primary kids, but ours say "CTR" big and underneath in smaller letters "Choose the Right". I love all of the colors you picked. I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteWhen we built our house--Mike went out and burned the pile of scraps~I about died!! When we built the chicken coop last summer, he piled up all the "scraps" by the fire pit and I went and piled them all in the garage in a nice corner--just for things like this!! (he thinks its a waste!) I have about 30 or so!! If you need anymore.... :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, these are adorable! SO much better then those little green CTR rings, that not only turn little fingers green, but get lost and sucked into the vacuum.
ReplyDeleteOoo...I want to make these with my Activity Day girls!
ReplyDeleteThey turned out great! I love them all together too!! Ha!

Way to be an awesome missionary :) I love the signs and btw, hello from Eastern Idaho! I'm just outside of Ririe (where??)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun alternative to giving a CTR ring. Especially for the older kids.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute.. I love them!
ReplyDeleteChose the right ! That is so cool. Never heard of the “saying”
