elmer's look for less and a giveway!

so i got an email from elmers...wondering if i would like to play along in their LOOKS FOR LESS challenge. basically..you find something awesome...and try to copy it for cheaper!!!!
right up my alley!

found these cute abc's at land of nod...they are only about $9 each..which isn't too bad. unless you  need a lot....

i made mine for less than $1 a piece!!!!
(elmer's generously sent me the foam core and the exacto knife and the glue.....
so all i really had to buy was the fabric!!!)

i got this great foam core board (that i have been using as a backdrop to take most of my photos...

i sketched out the letters i needed (you could trace them if you are not comfortable free handing it...

then i used this great exacto knife that has an AWESOME grip..and it's pink. win and win.

it cuts through it nice and easy...
unlike scissors.....scissors smoosh it and make it look horrible...(about as horrible as my manicure)

i used elmer's glue stick to hold the batting down

then i wrapped it like a present!
I hot glued the fabric all around..

for circles i cut little pizza pie shapes and folded them all back...
you could do the whole alphabet...

initials..

i hot glues a pop tab so you can easily hang!

hang it on a door..

or a wall..

you could do your family initial...

you could do numbers and use them for photo sessions...

(don't mind my unphotogenic child)

you could write the name on it....

or you could use it as a present topper

and you could do shapes..

warning: SERIOUSLY ADDICTING.

elmers has also generously decided to give TWO agaagg followers their own loot
which includes:
·         Black 20x30 Foam Board
·         White 20x30 Foam Board
·         CraftBond All-Purpose Glue Stick
·         CraftBond Repositionable Glue Stick
·         CraftBond Extra-Strength Glue Stick
·         X-ACTO Designer Series Gripster Knife
·         Painters Assorted Colors Set

 (only open to us residents!)

just leave me a comment on what you will make with it! (or if you  are like me and can't ever decide...let me know what is your favorite elmer's product...(mine is the painter markers..i will be posting another tutorial using them in all their glory this week!))

(for an additional entries you can like the elmer's facebook page HERE
follow them on twitter
and you tweet, blog and facebook about the giveaway
(separate comment for each thing you do!)

and make sure i've got your email so elmer's can contact you!

He's a 19 year old guy, living away from mom, and studying (ha! lol) around the clock so his apartment is in desperate need of some decor. I would make his name in a masculine fabric for his bedroom and I would make the university logo/initial in fabric that matches the school colors for the common areas of the apartment that he shares with his roomies. =)
