no.
let me rephrase this.
I have been thinking about this for a whole year...and even borrowed my mom's book of christmas stories...
oh wait. i'm ahead of myself....
okay. let me just scratch all that nonsense above---
i decided last year that i was going to compile a list of my favoritest christmas stories... and read one every night to my kids during the month of december....and i didn't do it last year.
and i barely remembered this year when i found my mom's book....
and i was going to put it off for another year...but carpe diem right? let's seize the carpe and get on with it!
so I made myself a christmas binder: (followed the same basic tutorial HERE)
yeah..i just found this stash of christmas fabric that i was going to make table runners for my family last year. kimbo minus two...
and so now i'm going to start posting a story a day (along with your regular schedule crafting program....)
today's story is called THE LAST STRAW (from some awesome chick on sugardoodle) click on title to take you to the link to print out --there is a story and a cute craft--
and i found this cute one too...
--(we actually did this last year in our primary at church...we read the kids the story and then each week of church if they had done something good we added some straw to this old baby cradle! it was really sweet to see the kids line up and cushion the little manager for baby jesus!)
i'm also going to print a title page for each with a picture to color:
(my mom's book actually had a Scripture and a song to sing at the bottom....)
but if you just want a picture to color:
Okay...so this is the jist...each day i will link up to a story. have a title page and a picture to color.
so join in if you want! great way to remember the CHRISTmas this season.
(and holy, i cried all morning long as i went through stories. boob.)
i don't know about you..but i get so distracted by all the shopping and fudge...(oh the fudge) and trying to make sure i didn't forget anyone and trying to figure out what my dad wants...(seriously dad...hardestpersontoshopforEVER) and i just think this is a great way to keep yourself in the true spirit of the season!
(at the end of december i will have it all on one big document to make it easier on you..but as of right now...it's day by day. what can i say-- i fly by the seat of pants. it's all the carpe.)
(you can go here to see all the christmas stories so far!)
you can go HERE to print them off in one big bang
and a few extras
LOVE this idea!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these stories! I am so excited to finally get my Christmas book together this year :) And... I think you're awesome :D
ReplyDeleteyou're just the very best!
ReplyDeleteLove your binder. I'm sure going to take advantage of your generosity and make copies to make a book for my grandchildren. Thank you and your Mom for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I'm currently in Disney with the fam and slightly freaking out that when I get ome tomorrow, that I have zero things ready for December and no Advent calendar or anything to help my kids focus on the real meaning of Christmas.So... I think I just found a great solution! Thanks so much!
ReplyDelete(I jumped over to you from Mandy's sidebar at VR)
Thanks!
