magnet board

when I do my menu board kits...i buy a roll of metal flashing from lowe's that is 10 feet by 14 inches.
and my menu board is 12 inches..
which leaves me a lot of 2 inch pieces of metal..
and the hoarder in me can't throw it away.
honest. i threw it away.
then pulled it out of the garbage.

so i hot glued them to a board....

and it didn't look so purdy.

so i took some fabric...that i bought...cause it WAS purdy. ya know..to hoard it along with my other fabrics.

and covered it up....

then i took some sun yellow spray paint (from krylon)
and coated myself a frame with it...
and i hot glued it all together.
I braided three strips of the blue together

easy. fast and awesome

slapped some buttons on some magnets..
then i stole some from my fridge...

this one is just a glass rock...with scrapbook paper behind and  stickers on the front.
and a glass rock in the middle of the flower.....
then i grabbed this one...(USED to hold up the grocery list)
and thought it made a great to do list holder...

OR you could use it to display some fantastic art work...
i attached mine to my hutch door....

hopefully i'll make a dent in my to do list if i can see it everyday and it doesn't get buried down under the pile that overtakes my dress.

  3. Great way to use up those scraps! Is the large roll of metal flashing from Lowe's expensive? I've though about buying it but never have checked it out.

  6. Great use of left-overs. Hey, do you think that the flashing would be magnetic enough to use with magenetic spice jars? I'm thinking adhere to a back and then install on the back of a cabinet door. Oh, maybe do that w/ magnetic hooks to hold utensils.....hmm...thinking.....

  13. Love this! I can't throw anything away either - which as you just proved, someday it may come in handy! I have a question for you. Where do you find the big clear rocks (that you turn into magnets) I have never seen them before. We have all the stores except Michaels (they closed) :( But Joann's and Hobby Lobby are running strong. Thanks in advance! Love your blog btw! :) Carmen
