and this was just the case over at crafterhours the other day
i saw this:
and thought...amazing. so simple...and easy....and who doesn't have t-shirts....
like bazillion million t-shirts. (it's made by upcycled education)
anyways...i had this t-shirt laying around
you might remember it from.......monday.
i thought it would be perfect for a makeover...
In the original post...she cuts off the bottom and uses that as the straps...but i just cut up the sleeves and sewed them together to make it long enough...
then i braided it....
i ran a stitch through the ends of the braid and just ran it through the opening i sewed!so stinkin easy!
then we had a little fun (mallory, she wants to know why i have to copy you)
bad case of the giggles!
in other randomness....
i get lots of random questions....and the latest one was what kind of camera i use...
it's um...this one...
it works fine..i don't think it's anything special...i think it's more that i take the majority of my pictures outside than the awesomeness of my camera.
but it a necessity...me..computer..camera..and the glue gun.. that is what i would take on a desert island.
{potty break}
remember this from my shout out sundays?
well..we tried it..
and loved it..
i'm going to buy 10 different bottles of glue and do all the colors! it's so addicting!
it was our last hoorah before school starts....
cause that's right....school FINALLY starts today! yippee!
oh..i just love the first day of school--everyone is all done up in their new clothes!
and i totally walked her to school..in my pjs...with mascara under my eyes.
yeah. i am going to be THAT mom.
oh well.
moving on....
It HAS begun!
um...let's see....hmmmm.
i think i'm out.
husband comes home today..so i'm off to do a mad clean scramble.
That shirt looks so fantastic now, I think I might even be able to convince my niece that she wants to wear that. Well, at least I have 3 I can try to convince and hope one of them bites. I'd do it for my own daughter, but since her birthday is coming up she's already been given a huge collection of clothing (yeah, because it's coming up, when it comes, look out! My family can be a bit excessive sometimes, especially when it comes to clothes, yeah, I know we're "starving" college students, but she has 3 main people in her life that EACH buy her a huge wardrobe and add to it almost monthly, then they are shocked that I give other people hand-me-downs and still have boxes of clothes saved for the "next" girl, 'cause yeah, that'll happen in time for her to actually want to wear those hand-me-downs! Hehehe, ahh, I crack myself up)
ReplyDeletei love that shirt! going to have to do that with a few of my old college t-shirts that have seen (ahem) better days.
ReplyDeletemy husband comes home today, too! so i'm going to be doing a mad cleaning dash in about, OH, 20 minutes over my lunch break. i do it every time he's gone and i swear he thinks i've slaved away the whole week. SIKE, HUBS!
I absolutely LOVE this shirt!!! I am going to try it on a couple of my old t-shirts. I'm a sewing novice, so it might take a couple of tries, but I am going to go for it.

Oh hello Kim, I've been a really regular stalker and after this post I just couldn't take it anymore and had to fully follow you of my own accord. I have NO idea why I didn't earlier. You crack me up! I love how real you are, it's sick how skinny you are but you seem like a very nice person ;) I have high hopes of making a littlest pet shop mat for my daughter for Christmas and it's all because of you. Hahaha Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOk, so I thought the whole cutout heart idea was cute to begin with... but holy cow!!! That is the cutest shirt I have ever seen now!!! :) Def. making one of those for my niece!!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I saw the original post and toyed with the idea of upcycling some of my old concert t-shirts this way but I wasn't sure about the positioning of the logos.
ReplyDeleteYour heart t-shirt works beautifully though. It is just in the right place. Did you consider this when making the heart logo in the first place or was it just serendipity?
i bought the shirt to do this...then i got the 101 tees book....so the chicken came before the egg!
ReplyDeleteThanks for answering my question about the camera! ;)
