so I have been using the excuse of cold weather to NOT get dressed...and NOT leave me house...so luckily I have been getting SOME crap done!
so far I have made some more stuffed animal scarfs
apron city....
and just got 3 more pairs of pants...so more is coming (which means a trip to Joanns is coming also..whooopieee)
some valentines blocks....
keychains
handwarmers....
and I'm putting in a custom order for this blanket (you choose the color scheme!) I might be crazy...but I tell you what...they are ADDICTING!
i'm also planning on whipping out some crayon rolls...but who knows when!!!
I also made this cute little scarf for my neice..it's one of my favs! (not in etsy)
go check it out HERE
Now a word....
I USED to sell my menu boards (past tense)
well..I have been getting TON of requests for them....
but here's the prob.
I had a problem with the magnets not sticking.
I should mention that it was only two
but it was two in a row.
(two out of the 20 that i have done.)
but still....it bothered me.
I always double check it...prop it up, put some magnets on..take a picture.
but then I get an email saying that the magnets won't stick...
I can blame
A. U.S. Postal Service
or
B. the clear calendars I got at oriental trading
(they are a little smaller than the frame...I hot glue them on but obviously they don't stay snug as a bug in a rug.
so I stopped selling them (it was also around christmas time so I haven't had a WHOLE lot of time to do them anyway)
but what do you think?
should I still sell them and take my chances?
I don't want anyone out there cursing my name cause their calendar doesn't work (I do always try to make good on them..by reimbursing them some money or sending them supplies)
I just don't know what to do!!!!!
Kim, I made some of these for my sisters for their birthdays last month. I didn't use the magnetic stuff because 1-I'm pregnant and didn't want to breath in fumes and 2-I was just too lazy to go find it!! So instead I used the magnetic 12x12 sheets of metal. They do have them at Sierra's. I glued the paper on top of that and then the calendar. It worked out great. You might have to charge a little more for them, but they are so cute!! Thanks for all the great ideas! (Sorry about the long comment)
ReplyDeleteYou know Melanie that is a wonderful idea, I was going to suggest something like that. Kim, they are a nice product and I think with a few changes you will get what you need out of them! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI actually do use the metal flashing for the back. It just has to stay snug with the paper and calendar for the magnets to stick on...(this is where i blame the usps..it must get knocked loose in shipping)
ReplyDeleteYou are crazy for posting that blanket for as low of a price as you did! :)
ReplyDeleteI am I love with the stuffed animal scarfs. They are to to cute. I'm going to have to make some.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of magnets are you using? You can get small rare earth magnets pretty cheap that are super strong.
ReplyDeleteI have not changed out of pajamas in three days. Think you can beat that?
ReplyDeleteMy husband now stays about three yards away from me...which is an added bonus.
I love the denim aprons and key chains! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through a re-tweet on Twitter and have been enjoying reading through your projects! Totally inspires me to do some more crafting today!
