*****GIVEAWAY CLOSED*****
who doesn't love things that glow in the dark. for reals. flashlight batteries last maybe a night. So when I got an email from adhesive tech asking if I wanted to try some glow in the dark GLUE STICKS....I said HECK YES! I was thrilled. I would watch the ups truck go by and cross my fingers everytime it slowed down!!!! And I got them finally. A WHOLE HUMONGO LOAD OF GLOW IN THE DARK GLUE STICKS
I showed my husband and he said, " cool" (to his credit, he was involved in a very competive competion of tiger woods golf xbox.) Then I said, THEY were FREE! and he said, "even cooler"
Well, I was psyched! and when I showed my kids, they were pretty excited too! They each took two and powered them up and played swords.
I'm glad they were entertained because I had some glow in the dark fun to make.....
I spread some out onto a plastic lid. (country crock in case you were wondering.) let dry and added another layer on top.
Made a whole galaxy.....
and stuck them to the my son's window
as i'm sticking them to the window (with a little water) i thought to myself, self, why didn't you just put the hot glue right onto the window...it would peel right off. well, lessoned learned.
I also thought you could glue them to some string or ribbon and hang them from the ceiling...a kid aged mobile.....
I also made some eyeballs...well, cause I'm obsessed...and Hallowen is almost over and then I can't really make them anymore without being creepy.
I did a big circle of glue
and made a pupil with paper and added it while the eye was still wet.
Then I added a circle of glue over it.
I added it next to my bloody hands....I'm gonnna make some more...cause you never can have too many eyes.
I also made some glow in the dark names...
They gave me so many glue sticks...I've got to spread the love and
GIVE SOME AWAY.
Oh yes. we love free stuff. (and I'll probably throw in some other craft stuff that I have laying around...just cause I craft in bulk!)
So leave me a comment telling me what you would make with glow in the dark glue sticks.
(one entry per person and only open to U.S. Residents!)
I will pick someone (random.org) on Saturday morning (Oct 30!)
GOOD LUCK!!!!
Send some love to our Adtech who hooked us up. (they also sell glue guns if anyone is in desperate need of one!) and glue sticks in bulk
oh, what a wonderful sight...I could pour these in a tub and take a bath in them.
and since we all can't win....
The glow in the dark glue sticks are currently available at Michaels, JoAnn's, Notions, Darice, and Walmart Canada.
oh my gosh!!! how fun!! I am brainstorming a sign for my 5 y/o nephew for christmas that says 'Owen you are awesome' & would trace the 'you are awesome' part w/glue sticks so he could always see that!!! thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteemem0831(at)yahoo(dot)com
Seriously?! How fun!!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely make a glow-in-the-dark galaxy (stars, moon, planets, etc) and then attach each individual piece to string and hang it from my sons mobile over his crib. He currently LOVES Buzz Lightyear so this would be adorable! THanks!!
gosh, i don't know exactly what i would do.... i just know it would be fun...maybe i might outline the writing on my girls wall "once upon a dream" so it would glow at night... ooo! the ideas are starting to come!
ReplyDelete~selina
I can think of a lot of things I would do. Since I am working on a bunch of Christmas projects, I would put glue on some ornaments, or the outside wrapper of candy canes. I think it would look pretty neat.
ReplyDeleteI think this is just about the coolest thing in the world! I would for sure make my own galaxy and stick them on every single window in the house! Or maybe a cool sign with names on it...ok, now my mind is racing with fun ideas. I must win this!

ReplyDeleteThis may sound silly but, I would make some glow in the dark big foot, foot prints. That way when my boys wake up in the middle of the night they can always find there way to the bathroom or kitchen. ReplyDeleteOoh I love those! My girls are afraid of the dark, I think I would do so ethnic on gneiss windows like you did, make some stars or something. Or add them to their desk, just to make it easier and more fun at bedtime!
ReplyDeleteJessandshelly@gmail.com
I have been looking for glow in the dark paint for my planters outside (why not show some love to the planter at night too?) but this would work wonders!! Then I could change the designs per the seasons! Fun!!
ReplyDeletehm....I like your idea of a mobile, but I immediately thought of the glow in the dark starts that they have for ceilings. I would totally deck out the entire game room with little bitty stars for my own little galaxy!
ReplyDeletei'd make stars
ReplyDeleteHmmm so many things you could do!!! I think I might try to make some G.I.T.D. window clings for starters...maybe glue around the edges of all the light switches in the house :D And if *I* never had to use it, I might contemplate a ring around the toilet seat for better AIM at night >.> lol
ReplyDeletethe first thing i would do is leave a scary message on the bathroom mirror to scare my husband, then i would love to decorate my sons room. what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteMy son is slightly obsessed with all things glow in the dark! We would start with the window clings for sure! My boys would probably make them into light sabers too. :)

I just got a better idea! A design on the potty for my potty trainers! Then they can find the seat at night! Or on the big potty so Hubby can see at night! I'm thinking inside the toilet lid write "aim here" with an arrow. Haha! Oh the possibilities!
ReplyDeleteIhaveacoupon@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteWow these look SO cool! I would write glow names on Christmas Scockings!
ReplyDeleteI would use it for some numbers for the mailbox, and put a little on the light chain in my bedroom. Our switch doesn't work yet and I'm always trying to feel around to pull it to turn the light on. Then of course all the fun things like window clings and stars for my sons room.

Glow in the dark glue sticks??? This is a dream come true :) Ever since I made cobweb window clings out of hot glue, I've been wishing they glowed in the dark... but I never imagined they actually made glow in the dark hot glue! What will they think of next?? Obviously, I would redo all my cobwebs in a glowing fashion, then see what else I could hot glue... oh, and I also learned the hard way not to apply the hot glue directly to the window. Ha! Thanks for sharing!
