Got to go back...BACK to school again....

If you knew that was a song from Grease you just earned yourself two glue gun points.

So I got an email from Michelle

Kim,
I was wondering if you had any particularly great ideas for using the plastic index card cases that are on sale this week at Walgreens for 39 cents. (There are also plastic pencil cases, too) I was thinking of putting a small memo pad (also on sale this week at Walgreens) and some crayons or short pencils in them as a quiet activity perhaps for a purse or the car. I was also thinking of making these for stocking stuffers. I would love to see your creations on your blog if you have time while the back to school sales are still going on.

oh....Michelle. You have inspired me. I actually keep a whole box in my garage marked "school supplies" and in it is markers, rulers, tablets, glue, colored pencils, BOXES of crayons, and everything else that goes on sale when august arrives.

Hello. My name is Kim. and I'm a craft Hoarder.

no this is not me....I just thought this post was getting long and I thought you might need a picture to break up all this typing. Isn't he cute!? (He will NOT be going to school this year.)

So I went to Walgreens and stocked up even more....and bought some sharpies (79 cents for two of them!) and now I am going to do ANOTHER themed week about SCHOOL SUPPLIES. (my husband saw my box and asked why I had a whole box of school supplies and I might have just mumbled something about it being mislabeled and it has our tax stuff in it. THen I MIGHT have hid it at the bottom of my pile of boxes. A girl has got to do what a girl has got TO DO!!

anyways....Michelle ended up posting these

HERE:
and gave a list of uses:

Mom’s Purse Emergency Kit: could include chocolate, nail file, Tylenol, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, lip gloss, hair band, Kleenex, gum, etc.

Office Supplies For a Backpack or Laptop Bag: could include binder clips, paperclips, glue stick, scissors, correction tape, rubber bands, etc.

A Small Coupon Organizer (the cases come with 5 small divider tabs)

On-the-Go Writing Kit: could include memo pad (on sale for $0.19 at Walgreens this week), stickers, crayons or pencils. I plan on putting some of these together for stocking stuffers.

Snacks Packs: fruit roll-ups, granola bars, etc. (Have them put together and handy to grab and go.)

Mini First Aid Kit: could include bandages, Neosporin, etc.

Emergency Sewing Kit: could include needles, thread, buttons, thimble, needle threader, small scissors, etc.

Flashcard Organizer

Michelle is a woman after my own heart (kinda reminds you of altoid tins doesn't it?)
(pre broken arm)

sorry, just trying to keep you entertained....she's not going to school either.
(she is taking a bath in the sink cause of her broken arm (notice the bag)

So, this next week is all about school supplies. and I'm excited....mainly because

this one is going to school...yeah I know. she's looks so cute. but beneath all that cuteness is...more cuteness. BUT beneath THAT cuteness is a  little terror.
You know when your mom says
"I hope you get a daughter just like you."
This is mine.

Dear mom,
I'm sorry.
Love, Kim

  1. I love office and school supplies. My husband makes fun of me for taking forever to buy just a pen. Because there are so many, I am so picky, and it has to be pretty.

Needless to say, I am super excited for School Week!

  3. LOL - I got my "paid back for my raising" child too. It sucks. But aren't they the sweetest when they wanna be? *sigh*

By the way - My name is Shelle, and I'm a craft hoarder, too.

You oughta see my school supply box. It's overflowing.

  5. I am also a supply hoarder. Who can only buy 1 box of 20cent crayola crayons???!!! I buy things so cheap and then think -I will sooo use this sometime, someday for something! SOOOO...I was kinda sad, kinda happy when a neighbor boy is collecting supplies for an eagle project. I gave half of what I had LEFT OVER after my kids lists were filled and it filled 2 walmart sacks chock full! (don't worry, I still have about that much too!) hehe ;)
