checker tin

I was done with tins. Honest. AND Then I was walking around the dollar store and came across these:
really? how could i not. So I scrounged up one more project to do with tins...AND THEN I will be DONE!
I took a piece of black paper and cut it so it would fit into the lid

Measure out some squares

glued them onto make a checkerboard (now I am pretty sure you could buy a piece of scrapbook paper with a checkerboard pattern. ....but my baby was sleeping and so I had to improvise. (I hot glued the checkerboard to underside of the lid.
picked out some buttons  and hot glued magnets to the back of them.

Put those in the tin

and decorated the front:

I also thought you could put in some pencils and some dice and a few sheets of yahtzee. Or make some tic tac toe papers and throw them in there too. Just a little tin of games to play while you are on the road or waiting for your car to get an oil change...or standing in line at walmart....or waiting for a train to pass....or I could go on forever.

AND THEN I got an email from Mandy over at sugar beez
AND she made a Tin Grocery mark off

She printed off some everyday items you see or get at the grocery store.
and added some buttons to magnets to cover up when you see that item!
love it!!!! Going to have to make one! Grocery shopping is an EVENT at my house! Check it out

okay....officially done with tin.
So what started as one little altoid tin
became 141 little altoid tins with a makeover.
AND THEN....NO AND THEN!
