treasure map (kid craft monday)

first up...i'm going to be doing another google hangout with mandy tomorrow morning at 9, 10 or 11...depending on where you live. 10 my time. which basically means i might be unshowered.

i get a ton of packages..and one of the ones i got was wrapped in the brown packaging paper...

(which i found a huge roll at the dollar store for...well..a dollar)

and my son grabbed it...and started drawing..then my daughter got in on it..and pretty soon we had ourselves some treasure maps..

they have literally been used about 40 times...

i helped my son with his..he drew all sorts of fun little things that he only gets....and his favorite part was me letting him use my sharpies!

my daughter drew hers more like a scavenger hunt with real places and instructions..

and rules...(cause she's anal.)

first rule: JORDAN IS IN CHARGE

second rule: look around everything

third rule: LISTEN TO JORDAN.

 they both dress up often and pretend to search for hidden treasure...

i saw this super fun idea to buy those cheap gold coins you bury in your sandbox...but you really could throw them around your yard or hide some in your house for them to find...

i also painted a plain recipe box to look like a treasure chest...

omg..i love this kid

i have made plenty of eye patches and mustaches..i have used felt, paper and my personal favorite is fun foam.....

AND i totally love this version...buy some light canvas and paint
