halloween games for kids (also titled....sometimes i'm dumb.)

really dumb.

and find myself in charge of not one class party...but two class parties.

kindergarten and 3rd grade.

(for the record they are different days.)

and can i take a moment and vent here: if you sign up on a sheet to help out IT WOULD BE A REALLY BIG HELP IF YOU ANSWERED YOUR PHONE OR CALLED BACK.just saying.

we are either going to have no treats...or 15 different kinds.

wait.
where was i?
dumb....party....3rd grade...people who suck...

oh GAMES!

what i am most excited about.

it's my fav and I am super excited to plan the games....

PumPKin Bowling..
you know i was going there didn't ya!

I will tell you what...this poor pumpkin bowling has had some mileage.

it has been used at 3 class parties at school...two preschool parties..two family party...a couple times at church..and borrowed out 4 times.
(you can go here to see the orginal post)

and it's still a fav.  but i added a little tinsy adjustment.

for my son's kindergarten...well, let's just say i didn't want to be hit in the head by a pumpkin (you know it will happen) so instead of bowling...i made cute little bean (rice) bags to toss into them.
 fill with candy or treats

and toss them in....

you have 3 chances and if you get one in-- that is the treat you get....

yes! i got the butterfinger!

we, oh course, have a whole slew of dumb little toys that kids love/mom's hate.

BINGO:

I thought bingo would be gloriously fun. (it's a classic...)
but i sooo wasn't going to be making game cards for 20 plus kids...
so i came up with an easy  peasy way to get all different cards without all of the work...

i got on my word document and made a table...then printed it out..
then moved all the squares a little smaller so the pictures would fit...

and using some halloween clipart i filled some in..

(and some i left blank for me to draw.)

then i asked my daughter's teacher to make enough copies of both for each kid in the class.

and i made a copy for me...so i could cut them up and make the cards to draw to tell you where to put your candy corn...
i even laminated them cause...well.. i love my laminator.....

(do you think that weird circle thing is a ghost?)

now...when they are done with their turn in bowling, they can go to their desks and cut out the pictures, glue them to their bingo boards and and color them..

and then everyone can get a handful of candy corn

then when we are eating our treats we can play!!!!

(to download these you can go HERE to google docs....and i uploaded them but don't know if they size wise are okay... (i'm new to google docs.)

and remember you can do an easy peasy one for the younger kids
LAST MAN STANDING

it's another family favorite. i actually got it from my daughter's kindergarten class and stole it completely.

the items:
I took 4 pictures (right from a dollar store halloween book)

and colored them...
and made cards to match..

beforehand:
tape them up around the room...one on each wall.

to play:
everyone starts out at whatever picture they want. if they want to stand by the witch they can..
you draw a card and let's say it's the Frankenstein....whoever is standing by frank is out and goes to their seats.

now, the people who are left  can stay where they are or move...then you call time when everyone is settled and pick another card (the frank card gets put back in)
the object of the game is to be the last man standing (that is why the title is the last man standing in case you didn't see the connection) you can move around as much as you want just don't get caught!!!!
(she lost)

now...why you have this color book out..you can just keep on ripping out pages and put your minions to work:
which turned into a full blown coloring contest...

and make yourself a cake walk...(or donut walk...or cupcake walk...or candybar walk...sugarcookie walk..meatball walk....chicken walk..whathave you)

or you could do a version of musical chairs...just take away a picture each time. ( i would make sure the pictures are pretty far apart just because i hate when they are close and you have those cheaters kids who put one foot on each . (you know you are!)

pin the face on the pumpkin (or jack o lantern)

*beforehand: get a pumpkin
(now you could make one out of paper for the wall but where's the fun in that)

*and get a blindfold

*and cut out some black face shapes (you can do paper and add some tape)
i used my expressions vinyl (cause i'm addicted.)

then you blindfold and give each kid a piece of the face...no real winner (or loser) here. just trying to make a funny face...

SKELETON PUZZLE:

I grabbed some cardstock and started sketching out bones...

then i had my kids see if they could assemble it...
i helped myself to some black butcher paper from the school...and drew an outline to help out if they kids needed it....
oh..and it might have gotten sat on....um. opps.

i was going  to make two to have teams race..and once you get it assembled you could do pin the bowtie on the skeleton.

MUMMY RACE:
two rolls of toilet paper (i actually made a special trip to walmart to buy cheap kind cause no way was i wasting my charmin 2ply.)

two teams..
one person is the mummy and you have a race to see who can cover their mummy the fastest!!!!

and i borrowed this picture...cause i suck.

WITCH RING TOSS

i made some rings out of pipe cleaners (is it wrong that my kids think these are bendaroos cause i was too cheap to buy the real thing?)
then i stuffed the hat with newspaper
and taped it down to a circle out of cardboard

and other odds and ends that i have thought about doing:

decorating their own sugar cookies

decorating a foam mask with those foam stickers.

making a ghost out of a sucker and a kleenex

last year at my sister's party we played pin the wart on the witch --the witch was a picture and the wart was a piece of playdoh!

giant spiderweb obstacle
and this t.p bowling is super fun too

and i love this witch pitch

alright..hope this helps anyone in need of a quick game....
sorry it's so last minute. you know i'm a slacker.

and if you have a fav game leave me a comment...

  15. Okay, this is completely unrelated to your post today, but I saw this post on another blog and thought of you. Even Target cupcake liners do the candy corn wrong. So maybe you are just a trendsetter! :)

and I know what you mean about people signing up and then not getting back to you. I ended up planning everything and buying all the supplies since I had no idea who was going to show up to help.
