a. bad material. very clingy and I couldn't get the lines straight--(it was from my stash--and after I washed the dress it gathered in some spots.
and b. I attached the skirt to the top...backwards. and had to cut it off....which made it uneven.
BUT it's not bad enough to throw it away--she still wears it...but bad enough to be embarassed to show you...
but guess what..
i'm still showing you. (rule number 1 in the agaagg handbook...if you fail....delete the post and pictures.
oh crap.
I was never good at following rules!
I just wanted to show you cause there are a few little ideas I really liked and will probably try again....
braided straps:
I took 3 long strips....
and pinned the top to my couch and braided them.
and sewed them around the waist and along the collar and straps.
see that weird gathering in the back....all fabric.
and the other thing I liked:
the front:
I then took more strips of fabric...
and pinned them in a circle along the front...
and sewed around and around and around.
do you see the mess up around the waist? lets focus on the happy face!
after i took these pictures she says, "do I look pretty mom?".
geez...if she only knew how gorgeous she was--missing tooth and all!
