stick your cruddy paintbrushes in Rubbing alcohol. Let them soak for at least an hour. ( I always recycle my kids old plastic cups they get at restraunts ie applebees.) Take your fingernail and pinch the bristles and slide up from bottom to top and you will see all the paint come up. I always do this...then stick back in the alcohol for another hour and repeat. then I rinse them all out and they are as GOOD AS NEW!!!
serious! It has saved me oodles of paintbrushes!!!!!!
(p.s. I have left them in overnight and the paint brushes were just fine!!!)
Thanks! I ruin sooo many paintbrushes.

ReplyDeletehey just wanted to let you know i have a blogger award for you over at my blog. So hop on over and check it out.
ReplyDeleteThats a good idea!! im a big "oh woops I forgot to wash that" person. haha. You can even get one of those "hair dresser comb cleaner tubes" (I don't know what they are called) and put them all in there with rubbing alcohol. That way they don't tip over and it looks a little nicer if you want to leave them out for a while to clean :)
ReplyDeleteAfter cleaning I always rub them with a little baby oil to keep them soft!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great tip! My kids are constantly leaving out the paint brushes to ruin, in spite of reminders, and I usually have to throw them away. As a mom of 4, that's a lot of brushes! As a result, I have a hard time finding one when I need it. Problem solved! Thanx so much!! :o)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I hope that works as well for me. Great share if it does! Happy 4th.
