Anyways, what I am trying to get at and doing a horrible job at is that I love my sewing box.
My mother gave it to me on my 19th birthday (my mom is one of my favoritest things too!)
I have had it for..... a few years! I almost gave away my age! two years...that is all I have had it. Okay maybe a bit more. But I love it.
See the wear and tear? It's been used.
But with all things....it needs a little sprucing.
I hate change.
Just ask my parents when they got rid of their purple toilet.
(I wanted them to turn it into a planter)
But my baby needed a makeover. It was time.
I didn't want to do a major overhaul so I found some fabric to match the navy blue so I could just leave the inside alone
Cut with an inch access.
I just folded each side and hot glued it all the way around. Tucking it right against that rope design thing that goes all the way around.
I even used the velcro...just ripped that sucker right off and hot glued it right back on!!!
Made a little tab to close
Ironic...me hot gluing my sewing box....but no... My glue gun was hot and ready to go (that's what she said for you the OFFICE fans)
Added a button. and my initial
SEW much better!
OMG! Before my brain could even process the next words on the page I thought to myself "that's what she said" I had a good chuckle over it. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the makeover on your sewing box! That fabric is awesome.

ReplyDeleteIs it wrong to want a sewing box even though I don't sew? LOL!
I bet your mom will be very proud of you...the redo is wonderful - I love the colors...
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the comment about the hot glue gun hot and ready to go....then you added that's what she said....perfect way to insert that phrase there! I am going to have to show my husband that. We are HUGE fans of The Office.
ReplyDeleteI also really like what you did with your sewing box. I might have to redo my mom's for her someday.
