craft it forward by michaels

DID you know that Feb 17 is random act of kindness day?
wellllll...it is.
and michaels store has really taken that to heart...

making a WHOLE week of it!
they generously sent me $100 gift card to buy stuff to make a craft for someone else...

well i was all over that! we could make this a monthly thing michaels. me and you and crafts...true love forever.

anyways..i knew where my random act of kindness was going to be geared towards...

they are exception donations for the silent auction....and i loved that i could help out a ton (thanks to michaels of course) but that also meant that the world craft store was my oyster. anything goes.

so here's what i made:
I ended up leaving michaels with this loot...i still was unsure the direction i was going so i figured that whatever was left over could just go in a basket of craft goodies....so i just grabbed all the cuteness i could
first thing i made: a wreath! this giant wreath was only $9--and michaels had a 40% off coupon...so i got it for a steal of a deal!
painted the frame...laminated the paper behind the frame to withhold the weather if it's put on a door...(i mean--it's idaho...and even though this a spring wreath...spring is COLD!)
i wrapped some bakers's twine around the frame...and added some chip board letters. strips of burlap..
and i had some of this mesh...
i painted leaf shapes and cut them out

fun little dimension added to it...

next up is a hair bow holder......
i LOVED these laser cut frames (went back and bought two more for my daughters room!)
just hot glued some chicken coop wire to the back....
i 100% adored these polka dot daisy's (on sale 40% )

and michaels had this wall of hair crap just waiting for me....
pretty sure angels were singing...just saying. this wall was the only time i thought....100 bucks was not enough. i wanted them ALLLLLLLLLLLL.

but i resisted the obsessive compulsive me and just grabbed a few...

i snipped off the stems and added a clip...done and done.

but you can easily use this as a memo board....

or to hold notes...or recipes or pictures...so cute in a kids room!

okay...last but not least....bought this cute little frame..
made some clip art for it (all the images are below!)
and just threw it in my basket for goodies (i cleaned house and started putting everything in the basket--but that GIANT pad of scrapbook paper (50% off thankyouverymuch) the cute pen, the flowers, the paperclips with ribbon, and a couple little treasures buried in there are from michaels...

i had so much fun! i hope all this fun stuff will help out lot's fundraiser!
here's all the printables....

oh! i almost forgot! michaels gave me 5 $5 gift cards to give away....
i stuck one in the basket above... and the rest were given away at michaels...
it was so fun to meet some of you! i only wish i wasn't lame and got pictures!!!!

so let's get in the mood and craft for someone else! it's the best gift!

  3. Thank you soooo much for supporting our little family! We plan to keep him around for a long time and everything helps get us closer to that goal of a kidney transplant. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for featuring the fundraiser twice now. Oh, and that is our cutest addition to our family in your feature of Kandice and the I-spy pennant banner:)
