sculpey is my best buddy ever.
i love this crap. i do . i really really do. it's like playing with grown up playdoh..and you get to keep you creations! i finally splurged and got this varies of bars...cause nothing makes me mad than needed a color in the middle of a project!the basics are easy...knead the doh until it's warm and easy to mold....design your design....(too warm and it sticks to the mat...just an fyi)
throw it in a nasty old pan and bake (directions are on package...i think sculpey is 225 degrees 20 min for every half inch? but don't take my word on that)
i started by making a lego head keychain/zipper pull for the son....
this flat one is a tie tack..
after it baked and cooled i drew on it with a sharpie
i just used an earring back on the tie tack
you can also stamp names and ages or dates in it...(i got this set at harbor freight..my papa's favorite store...for like 5 bucks)
you can roll it out and use cookie cutters...fun for the kiddos...they could diy their own ornaments...or charms
these necklace bales would turn any creation into a cute necklace...
i made some rings (the blue, white, and pink one the other ones were buttons)
here's the rings...i also sprayed the white with clear krylon in gloss to make it look...well glossy!
you can roll sculpey in glitter and make a sparkly something...
make some earrings (these are little cookie cutters--but for the peace sign i just used an exacto knife!....
when making earrings...i take a toothpick or small dowel and poke a hole in the top before baking.
or beads...just push a pin through..
this heart one is my favorite..
these chain link necklaces are super popular right now..
(from groopdealz...)
so i just made my own links (they are all connected) and baked them.
then added the hardware.
i sandwiched all the colors together to get a rainbow..
my mother in law was the toothfairy for halloween...so i made her some teeth earrings....(kinda creepy and cute all in one )
i painted these bright white...then sprayed them with a gloss...so if you just bought a gigantic thing of white sculpey you could make what you wanted and painted it to your choosing!and i ALSO made my kids christmas ornaments this year
i wrapped the tiara around my rolling pin to get it to dry like this (which totally ruined my rolling pin....)
and remember these fingerprint pendants....also using sculpey!
have i convinced you to go buy sculpey yet?
well...what about it these fun sculpey push pins
go get yourself a joanns coupon and stock up!
I am obsessed with sculpey too! I have so many color, tools, glitter and mini cutters! It is amazing!

ReplyDeleteOooh, the hearts are my fave too! I may just have to hit the craft store...uh-oh. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the chain links! The hearts are super cute too, love how you lined them up vertically.
ReplyDeleteFor the earrings that dangle, what did you squish into the top for the earring hook to hang on? Is it just a large jump ring?
I have bought some clay recently.
