a skirt to dress transformation

this skirt has been in my closet since the beginning of our marriage (which feels like fooorreevvverr)
and i never wore it...so i thought it was time for an upcycle....

cute dress...cuter girl...stinky attitude.

I bought this shirt at the dollar store...and then washed it...and it shrunk.
like the one  on the right is what it looked like...and the one on the left is what it shrunk too...

so i just cut off some sleeves and the neckline....

it was still too big so i folded in a few seams...

(or you could just buy a shirt/tank that fits and cut out all these steps..)

this is the underneath...
just sewed along the pins...
and then hemmed up the collar and sleeves
cut off the zipper on the skirt and sewed up the seam

and attached the shirt to the top of the elastic...and the skirt to the bottom of the elastic...

and added a flower (tutorial coming soon cause i'm getting the itch for another hair crap week!)

nevermind you weird ghostly circle.....

it's light and airy...

and perfect for wrestling bothers brothers

okay..i've sorta wondered off the topic of the the skirt/dress....just love these kids (i mean...not today..or yesterday...cause it's summer...but most of the time)

  2. I love that you 'love them, but not today or yesterday'! That just made me laugh... 'cause I think of my own 5 kids that way... but not the baby... she gets a pass because she is so darn cute!
