diy birthday banner...

it's...
it's my daughter's birthday (and we had her party last saturday) so i shall declare this BIRTHDAY WEEK so i can show you all the fun stuff that i overwhelmed myself with....

first up..we are going to learn how to make our very own banners.....

this is such a fun easy idea...and i'm using pikmonkey cause picnik is closed. boo.

i went into lables and picked a shape (you can upload a specific thing...(like minnie mouse if you having a minnie mouse party)
change the color...
you can add the same shape again to make a little border...
after you get what you like..save it! you will want a plain in case you forget a letter or want to add words...

then you add your letters...

when i save it i put the file name a birthday and then the letter i'm working on..

that way they are all together...and since a h p and y are used twice in HAppY birtHdAY you only have to do one...

then you just print them out!!!! and hang!

(i'm going to laminate them..i didn't want any glare though for the pictures!)

here's this frame if you want it...

you can really personalize them for any party...

you could make it say over the hill...or a just married sign for the back of a car window...or congrats...or welcome home....what have you....

and then omigoodness..how cute would it be to have your birthday kids face on them...
love this squirt...
since i already printed out the pink ones... i upload pictures of her at her party and did this for her scrapbook. (cause i always take a ton of freakin pictures so this is a great way to use them all...)

and holy crap! i had the hardest time finding a good collage (picnik i miss you!) found this one at ipiccy...and it lets you upload all the pictures at once (unlike fotoflexer...)

now...remember my tutorial on the cameo about using your printer and silhouette together? this would be a PERFECT project for it...go design what you want..print it out and then send it to your cameo to cut it out.  you would have a banner in NO TIME!!!

  5. That birthday collage is genius! What a great way to use a whole bunch of pictures- I always have way too many and it's so hard to choose!

  7. when you open up your own picture you go to exposure and white it all out (or take a white box sticker and cover the picture up)...then you can create on it ! good luck!

  9. I use Big Huge Lab to make mosaics. They have lots of options and are a good addition to Picmonkey. I miss Picnik so much too. I used it all the time.

By the way, I just found your blog (I must have been living under a rock because you are no small-time blogger) and I love it. I've been working my way back through princess birthdays etc. Love, love, love it. Makes me wish my kiddos were little again.
