{not a craft.}

so. my little pill of a daughter changes her clothes 5 times a day (and usually ends up in her undies)

and so when i was at my sister in laws house for my little niece's birthday party...and saw a lock on her closet...
i said, Yes mam. will go and i will buy and i will do..

trip to home depot.

1.87 later....

she was literally crying when i put it up.....
and the next day came out in her swimsuit..which isn't in her closet!
but it HAS helped a lot and i love not having to go up into her room to see the tornado of mess that awaits me....

here is what the package looks like....it comes in a pack of two...so i might stick one on our treat cupboard...

  1. OH my gosh! This is such a great idea.. my littlest guy pulls every piece of clothing out of his drawers every day and I never know what is clean or dirty at the end of the day.. he needs some sort of lock device too!
    Thanks for sharing!

  3. YES! I keep telling my Husband that we need to do this, but neither of us remember to buy the hooks when we are out. I think your post just gave me the boost I need to do it. :) Thanks!

  4. They also make bi-fold door locks if you don't want to put a hole in the door...we use these http://www.amazon.com/Mommys-Helper-Slide-Lok-Bi-Fold-Door/dp/B000P635T2 and they are great! My three year old can get into almost anything but these!

  5. I needed something like that on my daughter's closet and dresser! She doesn't need it now (she's 22) but when she was little...she'd change as often as my back was to her!

  6. I did the same thing to our pantry. Our boys were always getting in there and eating snacks and not dinner.

  7. I was about to make the same suggestion Aimee did - don't drill holes in your doors if you don't have to. We have those slide locks on all the bifold closet doors in our house and it's awesome. My 2 year old can't get into any of it.

    We also have clear plastic covers on all the door knobs we don't want him getting into and magnetic locks on the lower kitchen cabinets. My MIL gave me crap for putting everything on lock down "Just tell him no!" but I figured it was easier to pick my battles and not scream at him every single day for tearing stuff up
