butterflies....

{i had to stop myself from writing butterfly kisses in the title...i didn't want that song stuck in all our heads for the rest of the day... cause i don't know about you...but i cringe when i hear it! just a matter of it being overplayed like crazy when it first came out! always the demise of a good song....}

and then what do i do?..write butterfly kisses...so now that song is stuck in your head regardless.
on monday i showed you my daughter's wall....(if you haven't voted for sytyc go HERE)...and i've been slowly whiddling away the projects to finish this stinking room (that i was SURE was going to be done by last august before my kids went back to school...)
 but this project turned out extremely easy.i don't know why i procrastinated it for so long.

my cameo came with this butterfly....i made two sheets of these butterflies...the first one i did big and small sizes......

and the second one i pushed this button along the top left hand side....

at the very bottom...fill page....

takes this...
 and makes these!!! this is such a handy little feature--great for if you are making your own little design and adding text and you don't want to copy and paste a ton of times...

anyways..I cut them out and peeled them off my mat....(and when i was pulling them off my mat i didn't try to keep them flat....i want them a little more 2D....

and then i took some elmer's glue dots..
and just placed one right in the middle and put it where i wanted it.

and you can do this with whatever size shape color of butterflies...

or make designs with them....

or even use flowers..

  2. Love it! My daughter is petrified of real butterflies, but she loved this! I also love glue spots...my favorite sticky invention! Wouldn't have thought to use them on the wall! Watch out walls, I just bought a new package of glue spots on Monday!!

  3. Ok, now this is adorable! My daughter likes to jump on her bed, if I do this do you think she will have the be careful of accidentaly hitting them. Meaning, can they be damaged easy...maybe frame the butterflies around her dresser mirror instead of her bed?

  4. I did something like that recently in my library/game room but I don't have a cutting machine so just hand sketched and cut out.
