flag football

 i'm a girl. and real barbie playing, nail painting girl. so when it comes to boy gifts i turn to my brother sister. yeah. my sister. she has three boys and knows whats up in the cool boy world.

and apparently it's flag football. so i thought, I bet that is an easy thing to make.

and i'm (as ALWAYS) correct. it's easy!

(the gift is for two brothers so i included a football from my thursday  night ofhe#@$# i mean black friday at walmart....)

Here is what i bought:
 12 inches of red nylon. (feels like tent material)
12 inches of blue nylon (makes 12 flags)
nylon belt material
velcro (i got the colored ones from walmart)
and d rings (two per belt)

I cut the nylon pieces into 4 inches by 16 inches...

and i folded in one side

and overlapped with the other piece...

and sewed right up the middle...(i was going to hot glue this part...but i had two glue sticks to my name and IAMNOTGOINGTOWALMART.

I folded down the top and added a piece of velcro

and finished off the other end...

and repeat and repeat and repeat. i watched a new episode of law and order svu. i can't belive stabler is gone.

then I took my nylon belt material.

I made two sizes...a kids and a much bigger kid (in case the dad wants to play)

comes in a pack of three...it's WAY cheaper than joanns!

and sewed them onto the ends...

then i took some velcro and wrapped the belt around my waist and guessed approx where they should be and just pinned it in place...and sewed.

and then i melted the other end with a match for good measure (and cause my husband was passing gas.)

not really. but i like to throw in things like that to see if he reads my blog.

i'm actually making one more set (so three for each team) but my last sewing machine needle just broke..

and....IAMNOTGOINGTOWALMART.

i was going to get some awesome action shots of my kids playing with it...but then it started doing this....

and since i want a white christmas...i won't complain..

i even made an easy cinch bag to carry it all in..

(is that string bothering you? cause it's bothering me. i mean not enough to go retake the picture....but it bothers me.)
