hair.

so my daughter has this enormous amount of hair.

like adults are jealous of this little girls thickness and length..
and we even thin it out when we get it cut..
and it's been this way since she was 2...
(my other daughter doesn't posses this cousin it of hair)

and i really like to do her hair..
it's just fun to do..
(i should mention that i don't do my own hair. it's ponytail city....but her hair is fun)

this one is the one that was featured in the  big bloom

and someone asked for the tutorial..
and their wish is my demand.

it's cute..and messy (which is good when you are 8)
and only requires 4 pony tail holders and NO bobby pins (she hates bobby pins)
and if you have thinner hair it would look even better than the bird nest that it is...

you start by seperating it into 3 pony tails..

the middle one goes down to a point (i think it's easier to get all 3 closer together when it is this way)
now..if you hair isn't that long you could just roll up the hair and take the ends and tuck them into the pony tail holder....
but since her hair is so long I take it and only tuck it in about 1/3 of the way...
and i shove it into the ponytail holder..

and repeat 3 times..
and when you get done...you can find any strays and take them up and individually tuck them.

and you can tame the top if needed...

now...when it's all done it's kinda overtaking the back of her head....
so i take one more rubber band (but i have used a ribbon before)
and just stretched it over all three ponies...

it just helps it from going everywhere....

  3. Thank you "thrilled to be here" for putting up with your mom while she took those pictures!! Unfortunately, they came too late for me, as I just had my unruly haystack chopped almost completely off! Aw, well, we still love your fancy messy hairdo!
