oven mitt kid sized and some sweetness...

so I was thinking (I know..it's a rarity) that I wanted something to go with my pink ruffly aprons....

i started with an old baby blanket...it was doubly lined....two fleeces.
and I just cut out a basic shape..(doubled over)

each of these hands are 4 layers of fabric
see all the layers? I wanted it pretty padded....and didn't want to worry about batting....
so each side of the oven mitt has 4 layers each...(8 layers all together)

then I took each 4 layers of fabric...and crisscrossed some stitches..... (this could be skipped...)

before I sewed the two sides together...I cut a little strip of pink fabric

and made a binding along bottom...

sewed that on...then put the right sides together
and sew all the way around...

trimmed it up a little...and cut down between the thumb

then turn it right side out (by using flannel...I don't have to finish that edge. score 4 points for me..)
(but if you need to finish it...you just go right ahead and do that.)

now..i'm a hot gluer. I mean..I can sew..but if there is a project that can either be sewed or hot glued...i'm all over the hot glue....so I decided to hot glue some felt sweets....
the one..."process " picture....

the gift.....

(and if you really want a felt treat for your eyes...go here to pinterest)

i know right. adore!!!!
