cricut love alphalicious

This ABC is alot like the george basic shapes. so I'm not entirely sure why I bought it...probably cause the name is so cool.
but this does some other cute things that George doesn't
it cuts cut little crown tags..matchbooks and crest cards.

MATCHBOOK:

hot glued all these pages together at the bottom.

and the crest card...don't mind the top..i ripped it a little.

but how great would this be for a present....a whole little pack of cards with your intial on them!

ONE OF the MAJOR things that george doesn't do is lower case..(and I made a mistake and posted some on the george post...my bad. It's hard to tell them apart...and someone left me a comment and showed me the errors to my ways!)
so I know these are all alphalicious cause they are lower case!

and check out this cute hair bow holder made from the alpahlicious font:

make sure you come back tomorrow...i'm going to use my alphalicious and george cartridge to make something terrifically awesome.

NOW: onto some other cricut related stuff.

so SCAL
stands for SURE CUTS A LOT.
my sister (dear hayley..i love you) sent me a link to the scrapping table

and when  I went over there.....i FOUND  this:

now don't click the buy now button here..cause this is just a picture....
{but you can BUY NOW..just go over to the scrapping table}

but the price here is the cheapest I have come across.

so guess what I have on this computer as I type this...
guess

here's a hint. I just mentioned it about one minute ago.

that's right. I have SCAL!!!!!!

I can't tell you how excited I am (so excited my poor husband had to sit down so I could show him all the stuff it does (he's just excited he doesn't have to buy cartridges anymore)

SO: here's my little spill:

if you don't have scal...now would be the PERFECT time to buy it. PERFECT. we can learn together.
I will share the things I know and learn as I go along
(I played with it ALL DAY yesterday...so much I didn't even shower. yeah. don't judge!)

now---if you are having hesitations....let me tell you. i'm not the most tech savvy. i am literally catching on how the html works on blogs..

but the scrapping table is like the cliff notes for scal.

scal for dummies if you will (although I don't want to call myself or you dummies)
after I got it all downloaded (which I got all the info IMMEDIATELY..no waiting) I got a link to scrapping table's help section...it took my little hand and guided me through everything

once it's all ready to go..
it gives you little things to do so you know how to do the basic stuff:

we took a basic word

and made it all skewed and contected.

if you don't know what SCAL does:

in a nutshell....it has a picture of a mat (just like your cricut) and you can use ANY font you have on your computer...ANY FONT! (and if you don't have that many fonts..you can download MILLIONS! seriously..(dafont.com. is my go to..i also like kevin and amanda)

you type it on...and then you can stretch it...squish it..make it tall and thin...overlap it...i mean...the possibilities are endless. and yes..it may look hard. but I did it (implying that it's not hard)

it also does that same basic things your cartridges do:

it  does curves (which I have not tried yet)

now...if I haven't sold you on scal yet..cause you are thinking....it only does alphabets..

then let me show you the dingbats

there are tons of free ones at scrapping table...
and they work just like the fonts..

(it also has themes....shapes....and free fonts all over at scrapping table)

do you know how easy I could have made a banner fo rmy daughter's party!!!!!

serious. i'm like so in love with scal. i'll probably have to buy a new cricut cause i'm going to wear mine out.

okay. so go buy SCAL...(use the mother's day excuse....)
or you can blame me. sometimes we need a scape goat

I have put the scrapping table button on my sidebar (cause I love it so much) and as I learn new things I will be sharing...so really. buy it. get it on the ground floor and you can teach me too!)

(If you have any questions....check out her videos one of my favorite features shows you a basic of what it does!)

  4. Thanks for showing my Bow Holder!! I love the alphalicious font!

And I LOVE SCAL! I have had it for awhile now...and I bought it from Scrapping Table too :) It is so fun!!

And don't forget you can google "free SVG files" and tons of blogs and sites will come up. Then you just find one you like, download it to your computer and then upload it into SCAL and wa-la! You can cut it! So awesome!

  7. So this might be a silly question... how do you hook up your cricut to your computer? I don't think my cricut came with a cord for that. I'm totally going to get this for 'Mother's day' if I can figure it out.
P.s. I'm loving your cricut love posts!!

  10. I bought SCAL a couple weeks ago and LOVE it! I put it on my laptop so that I can take it with me when I go places. Also, my sister has a Cricut Cake and that will be really nice for her and her business. I just go over to her house and hook it up to her machine. Awesome!
Since I am a digital designer I am going to start making my own stuff too! I'm so excited. My first project? A No Soliciting sign. We have had a bunch lately and I was tired of it.
    Have fun with your SCAL!

  11. I have SCAL already (an old hat if you will) They already settled with Make the Cut and it will no longer work with updated versions of the cricut. So I think if you don't update the program or the cricut it should keep on working. But if you update one or the other they won't be able to communicate with eachother anymore. SCAL is in the middle of this lawsuit still, so you are still able to get it to work. As if you needed another reason to get it NOW! ;) So we will see if they will settle. There is another one as well called fairy cut? I think. Anyway this is a comment not a post! lol (I have to remind myself sometimes.)
