(for the tutorial go HERE)
i want one..
like now.
I needed a lamp..
hi ho. hi ho...it's off to a thrift store I go...
and I love pink
but this was not a match made in heaven
with the gold...so hot.
not
but that's hot.
(sidenote: our local thrift store is such a rip....I want to get a job there and tell them how to price people's free crap...)
tape up the important parts
primer in a can= true love
I stuck it in a box and spray paint it (keeps the "mist" at bay)
Okay..so let's talk about this next picture. if you are observant you will notice that this next lamp is different (it was still pink fyi...pocatello must love the pink and gold combo)
THERE might have been an incident with some certain primer overspray that got on a certain husbands new dirt bike while in the garage.
and that certain husband was a little mad
okay. lots mad.
and went to move the box that I had put the lamp in to protect a certain stupid dirt bike from this exact thing. and when he lifted the box...
crash.
the bottom fell out of the box.
broken lamp.
(that is his story...and he's sticking to it.)
and he totally felt bad.
(there were a few tears.)
(the lamps not mine)
so i got this new one for 4 dollars....(that my husband gave me.)
so let's pretend that this lamp is what we originally started with mmkay?
( I still like the first one better~)
and yes...officially banned from spray painting in the garage.
3 light coats of this followed by a gloss finishing spray.
now....onto the lamp shade.
Do i need to remind you about the tiny fact of lazy i mean I am very aware of how I spend my time.
so I wanted a quick shortcut...
enter....
so cute..I got some in the cream color....
but it also comes in this awesome gray..
and this cute pink
since my shades top and bottom weren't even..I had to coerce it into place. the fabric has a little bit of stretch..so I pinned it around the top first...then pinned it around the bottom..stretching it as needed. (there isn't a HUGE difference in the sizes of the top and bottom..so it wasn't to bad!
then I just hot glued around the edge...removing pins as I went.
actually..I have changed my quote..the pee quote wasn't my husband's favorite....
You are a genius!! Seriously!! And your whole house is going to be covered in ruffle fabric... LOL! :)
