braided headband.

aka...supereasiestheadband (no spaces)
first: this is the daughter that puked in church (and if you didn't know about then it's because you are not my friend on facebook...(we can be friends here...just a little less talking about puke)

and she was some bed head cause of the throw up mishap...
so keep that in mind when seeing the pictures.
cause even WITH bed head..still better than mine today!
First..I measured my daughters head. (21 inches) and then I took a rubber band

see...about ready to snap...so I helped it along the process..

and measured it..(7 inches) (looovely camera strap in picture..)

so I needed about 14 inches of fabric...
I took 3 strips of fabric...about an inch or two wide and 15 inches long (braiding will make it a bit smaller)

and taped them to the desk

and braided until I reached the ends. when braiding..I just made sure that the underneath of the fabric was always tucked behind...so the top is all pretty.

I secured the ends of the braid with hot glue and then attached the elastic to the end.

then I took another strip of material and and hot glued it around the bottom

for a more finished edge.

then I waited for the glue to cool before I stuck in my daughter's hair for pictures!

super easy...took about 4 min...great way to use scraps...cost: basically free. I might whip up about a thousand of these!
p.s. my daughter dressed herself. it wasn't freezing (like 30 degrees) so apparently tank top weather.

  3. My daughter and I just made some this weekend. I broke out the sewing machine...didn't even think to use my glue gun. Duh!
Instead of cutting the fabric, we tore it. Faster. Messier. Gooder :)

  4. Cute headband! Oh and my daughter thought it was tank top weather yesterday but when she looked outside and saw snow, she just added a long sleeve shirt under the tank. Fashion sense I tell ya!
