Hand Painted Pots starts off our terra cotta pot week!

Lets go back last fall. When all the summer stuff is on sale. I was at shopko. Ran into an aisle of terra cotta pots. On sale.....On CLEARANCE. (One of my favorite words).

That is 24 cents. Needless to say....I bought a ton!! And since it was almost winter, in my garage they sat. My husband could not believe I bought all these pots....and I told him I would use them...ALL--and he said I wouldn't. So this week is prove my husband wrong week (also know as terra cotta pot week!)

Our first craft is just paint. simple ole paint makes everything cuter!

I let my kids paint these ones...(my sons has little spiders around the base and more than one time I have jumped because they really look like spiders.)  I took them to the store and let them pick out what kind of seeds they wanted, then we planted it and had a little lesson on how seeds grow. Now they are entirely resposible for watering and taking care of their flowers.

And they aren't just for flowers....I also painted a fall one to hold up my harvest sign:

And just to add some color to my door step:

I am such a good gardener..look at those beautiful flowers!!

oh, and that pretty brown grass!

Four pots down. 12 to go.

  1. I love the little candy corn pot. What a cute idea to use that instead of just sticking the harvest sign in the ground (that's what I do). I am definately going to have to make me one of those:)
