had these laying around...some impulse buy at the dollar store. I knew i could use these sometimes...and I was right!
took some tracing paper and traced over some side photographs I had of the kiddos.
traced it onto the cork with a pencil.
Painted it black.
let dry...you'll probably need to apply a second coat because the cork is pretty porous.
I tacked them to wall using those double sided adhesive squares. Didn't love it.
Pulled out my bin of ribbon. Didn't find anything I liked
Got out some fabric...made some strips myself and hot glued it the back
Made some bows to go on top and bottom
Nailed it to the wall
It's right between the kid's bedroom doors. I thought it was fitting. (my daughter (bottom) was pouting in her picture can you tell?)
Spent the rest of the night prying these sticky tabs off my wall!
that is terrific....I love this idea!
ReplyDeletecute idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea...
ReplyDeleteI was admiring those when I was there on Saturday! Soo cute!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! I really like the colors together and that ribbon is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat is very creative ! I love the way you hung the ribbon.
ReplyDeleteI love those!! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThose turned out very sweet....I love how expressive a simple silhouette can be.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry but I have to laugh about you having to pry away the sticky squares.
Love it. I have been wanting to do this for a while and I have those cork board squares that wont stay on the wall in my office. Now I Know what I am going to do with them after I install a large bulletin board that I can screw to the wall.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try it
