kitchen odds and ends

So, as previously mentioned...sprucing up my kitchen. My huband I didn't want to spend a major amount of money...So I just added a little here and there to make it feel like I was getting some bang for my buck.

When I was painting my giraffe...oh, I mean my rock backsplash....I wanted something special for my sprinkle rack (I got the idea fromBAKERELLA !. love her!

I decided to frame it in..kinda like mock molding if you will.

I took out all the little metal things to hold the picture in place.

And that's about that.

Bakerella's rack.  She has better sprinkles than me!

Next on our tour--
I got these shadow boxes from the D.I. forever ago. They always look weird on my wall--I almost needed one more to make it look complete. But I just zapped them with some paint
And added some scrapbook paper for behind
hot glued it to the back
and added some odds and ends

Let's continue on shall we....
I've had this eat sign for at least 4 years. Give or take. Just need a little touch up.

Had to add some polka dots.

and....
Got me these three white vases at the D.I. for a quarter each. SCORE! Had to spray paint the red flower to match...love spray paint.

ohh...that florescent lighting is beautiful! I am still contemplating what color to paint up above. I just can't make up the mind!

Only two more things to go...hang in there...

Hot glued this W right onto the plate.

and...the other wall. Just because it felt totally left out.

And I know Bon Appetite is spelled wrong...but those suckers are glued on.....and besides no one notices it anyway.

I ran across this picture on Bakerella....love it!  I would love to buy me a bunch of glass vases and fill them with candy and just fill up all that space with sugary goodness.

  4. If I filled vases up with candy it wouldn't be very cost effective for me. I would just eat it all and have to use my secret stash of money to replace it before my husband found out! Too cute... Jami
