It's thrift store week!--hide a book!

I love a good theme. and this week is all about thrift store finds. (I love a good thrift store too.) Sometimes you go in and leave with nothing. Sometimes you hit the jackpot....this week was jackpot week.

First find: a book

I love the babysitters club. I felt a special bond with Claudia. She was an artist and had candy hidden all around her room. We were like twins. I made a version of this book in high school to hide candy or whatever I was currently hiding from my sister. I totally loved it. I felt like a spy. I felt like Claudia.

Thrift store book $1

Took a knife and started hacking into it.

Just made a rectangle and used the before pages as a guide and went deeper and deeper (I'm in about 600 pages.)

Mod podge the inside. If I had clamps I would have used them...instead I just placed some heavy books on it. while it dried.  Then, I mod podged again.

Fill with your most prized possesions

blends in and no one will be the wiser.

  11. I appreciate all those who have the sophisticated palate and penchant for Cadbury Mini Eggs. The fact that all my children are now grown and read blogs such as yours, however, will put my eggs in serious jeopardy because they will now know to sniff books too!
